I love sketches! They provide me with such inspiration. It's hard for me not to use every detail on the sketch. I'm working hard to make the sketches more "me". Hmmm, whatever that is?! lol Here is my take on Creative Scrappers Sketch #226.

Another Card
This is quite unusual for me, but I was actually able to combine two challenges. It was a mere accident, but fortuitous at the same time. Love that when that happens! Happy Sunday!
These are the challenges:
1). retro sketches #29
2). 365 Cards Day 198

Tim's Tag ... Sorta
I almost fell over when I noticed that it has been almost three months since I last posted! I'm a little rusty after such a long hiatus! I made an attempt at Tim's faux metal look.
Yikes! I needed to make a birthday card for my nephew's upcoming birthday. Since he loves, loves, loves football, I thought I could incorporate this technique. For the most part, I like the results. It doesn't have the industrial look that Tim has on his tag. I liked the technique though, and certainly plan to use it in the future ... especially for my masculine recipients!

Thank You Card
My son's second to last day of school is tomorrow. He'll be finishing his sophomore year in high school. Gulp! Every time I look at him, I cannot help but remember the sweet cheeked lil' boy he was. Now, he is 2" taller than me! Oh, I could go on and on about the many changes he's made. Anyone who has kids understands this. Time flies! Wait! I was going to share with you the thank you card I made for his bus driver, Karen. She is so kind and caring! He's the only kid that she actually picks up in front of his house. So, I always make sure my son has a gift to give her on as many occasions as possible. I added a gift card holder to the interior of the card. This is what I put together for her:

Another Sassy Challenge
What would I do without
Sheila's Sassy Challenges? She definitely inspires me each and every week. Thanks for sharing your creativity, Sheila! The challenge this week was to find a card on one of the Cricut carts and create an A2 card with your Gypsy. I used a card from the Sentimentals cart. My beautiful niece just graduated from high school so I created her a grad card with her school colors. The embossing technique I used was inspired by Tammy Tutterow on tammytutterow.typepad.
